Job summary

RTCA, a precision aerospace and defense manufacturer, is seeking a Quality Inspector in El Segundo, CA. You will perform inspections of raw materials, in-process parts, and finished components to ensure conformance with drawings, customer specs, and quality standards, using precision tools and GD&T.

You may support or lead advanced inspection activities, participate in CAPAs and continuous improvement, document results, and mentor junior personnel.

Qualifications

• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specs, and technical documentation.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
• Proficient with standard inspection instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, height gauges).
• Ability to complete inspection and quality documentation accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and visual inspections on raw materials, in-process parts, assemblies, and finished components using precision tools.
• Interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications in accordance with ASME Y14.5 GD&T requirements.
• Verify product conformity to customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements including AS9100 and ISO standards.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, traceability, and quality documentation.
• Support First Article Inspection (FAI) activities and AS9102 documentation.
• Identify nonconforming conditions and collaborate with cross-functional teams on containment and resolution.
