Job summary

SpaceX in Westminster, MD is seeking a Quality Inspector (Starship) to inspect aerospace parts on-site using micrometers, calipers and profilometer, and to document inspection results per engineering drawings and certifications.

You will review certifications, communicate with suppliers to resolve discrepancies, and support continual improvement initiatives. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 1+ years of receiving, precision, mechanical, or metrological inspection experience.

Responsibilities

• Utilize inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and profilometer
• Approve or reject items and document inspection results as required
• Perform documentation review and verification of certifications, specifications, and conformance to design requirements through eCerts or physical copies
• Communicate with internal customers and suppliers to resolve inspection discrepancies
• Complete surface plate work/inspection of machined aerospace parts
• Support quality management system policies and procedure documentation, assess compliance with company and industry standards, initiate and lead continual improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
• Inspect flight hardware at the supplier according to engineering drawings, purchase order(s), industry standards, and SpaceX specifications
• Use electronic MRP system to route parts and components to proper departments
