Job summary

Belcan is seeking a Quality Inspector for the 2nd shift onsite in East Hartford, CT. You will perform final and in-process inspection of aerospace engine parts using CMMs and PC-DMIS, reading drawings and customer specs, and ensuring products meet quality criteria.

The role requires 5+ years of inspection experience, strong metrology skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Competitive wages include 15% shift differential, 401k, PTO and holidays.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of inspection experience in aerospace or general manufacturing.
• Proficient in operating CMMs using PC-DMIS and reading/writing programs.
• Experience performing dimensional and visual inspection in aerospace.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and customer specifications.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of geometric tolerancing, hand gages, micrometers, swing gages, and other measuring tools.
• Background in manufacturing; able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience performing incoming, in-process, and final inspection.

Responsibilities

• Final and in-process inspection of aerospace engine parts and components.
• Create, edit and correlate PC-DMIS programs using a solid model and print, ensuring data is captured.
• Inspection includes visual and dimensional using a CMM with the ability to verify measurements with hard gaging and measuring equipment.
• Interpret operation sheets and blueprints to confirm parts meet customer criteria for acceptability.
• Ensure all parts being inspected meet Customer criteria.
• If a part is defective or needs re-work, Inspector must process the required paperwork.
• Availability to work overtime based on business needs.
• Familiar with building and calibrating hard gaging is a plus.
