Job Summary

The Aerospace Quality Engineer is responsible for Development Quality Assurance activities within Safran Electronics & Defense, Avionics. The role involves working with aircraft equipment such as control systems, cockpit switches, latches, and optics components. The AQE audits and reviews documentation, standards, and processes in accordance with ARP-4754A and other standards, ensuring compliance and supporting quality assurance throughout the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

1. Develop process assurance plans and standards based on ARP 4754A and industry standards.
2. Provide metrics demonstrating compliance to regulatory and customer requirements.
3. Ensure project plans align with development assurance levels.
4. Review project plans and documentation, including system development and verification plans.
5. Perform audits and reviews to verify compliance with standards and processes.
6. Create and update documentation on processes, rules, and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM fields.
• Proven experience in Development Quality Assurance in aerospace, preferably with Safran standards.
• Knowledge of airborne systems development, ARP 4754A, ARP 4761, RTCA standards, and related guidelines.
• Proficiency with IBM DOORS, JIRA, and understanding of Requirement-Based Engineering.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Leadership and proactive problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of quality tools like RCCA, 8D, Ishikawa, 5 Whys, and standards such as AS9100.
• Ability to manage projects and coordinate teams.

Additional Information

Potential travel up to 10% between Irvine, California, and other locations. The role involves working in an office environment with standard physical demands.
