Job summary

PPG's Aerospace Business is seeking a Quality Control Supervisor in Avon, MA to oversee QC personnel and ensure products and processes meet internal, customer, and regulatory standards. Role onsite reporting to the Quality Manager in the Avon plant.

The supervisor will guide root-cause investigations, drive improvements, and ensure AS9100/ISO 9001 compliance while coordinating training and quality metrics across Engineering, Production, Lean, and Supply Chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality assurance, business administration, production/operations management or related technical field.
• 3+ years of quality-related experience within a manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of formal people management experience.
• Experience training new and existing employees.
• Experience in Aerospace/Automotive manufacturing; APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Controls Plans; Lean/Six Sigma; root cause corrective action; MRB; document control; AS9100/AS9102 knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervises a team of Quality Control Technicians.
• Supports Quality Assurance with root cause analysis of failed parts, including documenting results and compiling records.
• Support companywide compliance to ISO 9001 & AS9100 Quality Management System.
• Facilitate team member process improvement suggestions using problem solving methods.
• Subject Matter Expert on End Item Acceptance - Delegated Source process for customers.
• Coordinate activities by the QC team in support of Non-Conformance Reporting and Material Review Board.
• Support process validations and AS9100 requirements; participate in First Article Inspections per AS9102.
• Inspect, test and evaluate the reliability of manufacturing processes, products and equipment.
• Interact with Engineering, Production, Lean, and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues and escapes.
• Generate quality control metrics and reports to support performance.
