Job summary

PPG is seeking a Plant Quality Manager for its Aerospace Transparencies site in Sylmar, CA. You will lead the Quality function, ensuring AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA Part 21 and EASA Part 21 compliance while fostering continuous improvement and operational excellence across the plant.

You will manage audits, CAPA/RCCA, and risk analyses, drive QMS improvements, and provide leadership for new product introductions and process changes. Strong regulatory and customer-facing focus is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management or related technical discipline.
• 6+ years of quality experience in aerospace or regulated manufacturing.
• Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 and FAA/EASA Part 21 regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain site QMS aligned with AS9100/ISO9001 and corporate standards; lead audits and close findings.
• Ensure compliance with FAA and EASA Part 21 requirements for aerospace manufacturing and inspection.
• Lead internal and external audits; close CAPA/RCCA actions.
• Lead APQP/PPAP for aerospace programs including risk mitigation.
• Provide technical quality leadership for new product introductions and processes.
• Oversee nonconformance investigations, MRB activities, and root cause analysis.
• Conduct risk assessments including FMEA and maintain preventive controls.
• Monitor quality KPIs and drive data-driven improvements to reduce defects and scrap.
