Job summary

PPG's Aerospace Business in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking a Quality Engineering Manager to lead the Quality Engineering function, including the Quality Clinic, MRB, and contract review. You will manage a team of Quality Engineers, drive containment and problem solving, and partner with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to improve quality and compliance.

The role is onsite at our Grand Prairie facility and reports to the Senior Aerospace Production Quality Manager.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (aerospace preferred).
• Prior leadership, supervisory, or mentoring experience.
• Strong knowledge of nonconformance management, MRB, root cause analysis, and customer quality requirements.
• Experience with AS9100 or equivalent quality management system.
• Aerospace transparencies, composites, or advanced manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience with customer audits and corrective actions a plus.
• Lean or Six Sigma Black Belt/Green Belt preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Quality Engineers to support production and continuous improvement.
• Promote a prevention‑driven, data‑driven quality culture across the organization.
• Own and manage the Quality Clinic, MRB, and customer return reviews.
• Chair or delegate MRB leadership with technical rigor and documented justification.
• Support contract review activities related to quality, inspection, testing, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead or support Customer Return Reviews and corrective action responses.
• Drive structured problem‑solving (RCCA, 8D, DMAIC, PFMEA).
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to reduce scrap, rework, and defects.
• Use data analysis to identify improvement opportunities and drive long‑term quality performance.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 and customer/internal procedures.
• Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits and corrective actions.
