Job summary

CesiumAstro, a leader in spacecraft communication systems, seeks a Supervisor of Quality Control to oversee daily inspection activities and ensure hardware meets engineering specs and aerospace standards. You will coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, and QA, directing QC staff, reviewing records, and driving continuous improvement.

The role requires practical QC knowledge, GD&T proficiency, and experience with nonconformance management, CAPA, and QMS tools.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in quality management, engineering, manufacturing, industrial technology, operations management, or related field.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in an individual contributor capacity.
• Practical knowledge of quality control, manufacturing inspection, product acceptance, and quality management practices.
• Understanding of incoming, in-process, and final inspection procedures, nonconformance management, and quality documentation requirements.
• Proficiency in reviewing inspection results, engineering drawings, GD&T, measurement data, and product acceptance records.
• Experience coordinating inspection assignments, monitoring daily workflow, reviewing deliverables, and supporting work-unit productivity.
• Familiarity with AS9100, quality management systems, root cause analysis, CAPA, and established quality procedures.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• ERP systems, e.g. Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, or equivalent applications.
• Quality management systems (QMS), e.g. ETQ Reliance, Arena QMS, MasterControl, or equivalent applications.
• Inspection and reporting tools, e.g. Minitab, JMP, Power BI, or equivalent applications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities per work assignments and schedules.
• Assign inspection tasks, coordinate personnel and resources, and monitor workflow and deliverables.
• Review inspection results, product acceptance records, and quality documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor nonconformance reports and quality records to identify discrepancies.
• Verify inspection activities follow approved procedures, engineering specs, and customer requirements.
• Prepare inspection summaries, quality reports, and status updates.
• Direct daily activities of quality control personnel, provide instructions and training.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, and QA to address issues.
• Communicate findings to management and applicable personnel for resolution.
• Identify recurring discrepancies and adjust workflows to improve efficiency.
• Support implementation of approved QC improvements and corrective actions.
