Job summary

Poly6, an Ohio-based manufacturing company specializing in advanced additive manufacturing and ceramic components for aerospace turbomachinery, seeks a Quality Engineer to lead QC across Cleveland sites and drive QMS improvements.

The role reports to the Director, Head of Quality and focuses on AS9100 compliance, inspection methods, data analysis, and continuous improvement while coordinating with Operations and Engineering. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field; equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in aerospace, precision manufacturing, ceramics, or regulated manufacturing.
• Supervisory experience in QC, inspection, or manufacturing; multi-site leadership preferred.
• CQE, CQA or similar certifications preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise QC operations at Cleveland sites, ensuring priority, coverage, and performance.
• Balance resources across sites and shifts, and assist with QC tasks to maintain throughput.
• Track and report QC metrics (yield, defect rates, rework, turnaround time).
• Set daily/weekly QC priorities aligned with shipment goals and communicate with teams.
• Establish expectations for QC personnel and administer corrective actions as needed.
• Lead ongoing qualification program for QC technicians and ensure consistent training.
• Ensure consistent inspection methods, documentation, and cross-site standards.
• Communicate inspection results, nonconformances, and process issues to production/engineering.
• Maintain and improve the QMS to meet AS9100 and customer requirements.
• Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits; assist change management and new product development from a QMS perspective.
