Job summary

RTX is seeking a Structures Intern with Pratt & Whitney to work onsite at Wells, ME. You will analyze compressor airfoils and cases through design, testing, and production transition under mentorship.

You will perform ANSYS FEA for stress, fatigue life, and fracture mechanics; assist in data reduction from engine tests; join cross-functional teams to balance performance, cost, and weight while ensuring durability.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship.
• Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA.
• Relevant coursework or projects in strength of materials, FEA, or related areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical support for compressor airfoils and cases through design phases and transition to production.
• Perform ANSYS FEA for stress, vibration, fatigue life, and fracture mechanics.
• Support engine test data reduction and field investigations as needed.
• Collaborate in cross-discipline teams to balance performance, cost, and weight while ensuring durability.
