Job summary

PPG's Aerospace Business is seeking a Project Manager to join our team in Sylmar, CA. You will plan, execute and close technical engineering projects related to aerospace transparencies for fixed wing and rotorcraft platforms.

This is a fully onsite, fixed-term role lasting about 9 months, reporting to the Aerospace Site Lead, Transparencies Program Manager. Responsibilities include leading programs from concept through production, managing budgets and schedules, coordinating with suppliers, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3+ years of project management or engineering experience in aerospace or defense industries, with specific experience in transparencies or related components.
• Knowledge of aerospace transparency materials, manufacturing processes, and testing methods.
• Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and suppliers.
• PMP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of aerospace transparency projects across programs from concept through production and sustainment.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations; monitor progress and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain clear communication with internal teams, customers, and suppliers regarding status, milestones, and changes.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, R&D and procurement to ensure seamless program execution.
• Support process improvement initiatives to enhance project management practices, development and manufacturing efficiency.
• Monitor project budgets, control costs, and ensure financial targets are met.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on schedule, cost, and quality.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements, industry standards and internal quality requirements.
