Job summary

Sierra Nevada Corporation seeks a Project Manager I to lead projects from design through release, develop plans, schedules, and budgets, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on technical matters.

This role focuses on managing simple projects, liaising with Sustainment Engineering, ILS, Tech Pubs, Configuration Management, and Liaison Engineering to maintain alignment and ensure timely delivery. A bachelor’s degree and 2+ years PM experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in project management and/or in a related or technical field.
• In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of related experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated experience in managing a project.
• Strong analytical skills & capability to meet schedules.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with cross‑functional engineering and logistics teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from design to release, including project initiation, execution, delivery, and closeout.
• Develop, define, and execute project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Identify necessary resources for projects and coordinate their allocation.
• Interface with internal and external customers or field-based employees on technical matters.
• Manage simple projects such as studies, small task orders, Internal Research and Development, Level of Effort, services only, spares, or projects with minimal deliverables.
• Serve as a Control Account Manager on larger programs as needed.
• Track project progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, and other performance indicators.
• Prepare reports to keep stakeholders informed of project status.
• Adapt to changes and remain flexible to ensure project success.
• Coordinate cross-functional inputs from Sustainment Engineering, ILS, Tech Pubs, Configuration Management, and Liaison Engineering to maintain alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
