Job summary

Astronics PECO in Clackamas, Oregon seeks an experienced Production Manager to oversee daily manufacturing operations and drive cost-conscious, high-quality output. You will lead a union-aware team, manage resources, and implement Lean practices to improve processes and productivity.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering, 5+ years of related experience, and strong reporting, communication, and MS Office skills. Travel to supplier sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering preferred.
• Five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Experience managing unionized workforces preferred.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and employees.
• Strong familiarity with automated MRP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Technical knowledge of Assembly, CNC Machining, and Die Casting processes desired.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop production team supervisors and members, fostering a collaborative and motivated work force.
• Track KPIs related to production efficiency, quality, and cost; prepare regular reports for upper management.
• Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure production targets are met.
• Manage and allocate resources effectively, including personnel, materials, and equipment.
• Ensure quality standards are followed and upheld, minimizing defects and waste.
• Evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve quality using Lean and best practices.
• Develop annual operating budgets for assigned departments.
• Investigate and resolve employee performance issues per collective bargaining agreement.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Promote safety culture and train employees in safety protocols.
• Occasional travel may be required to meet customers, sites, and suppliers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
