Job summary

Trillium Engineering in Hood River, Oregon seeks a hands-on Production Floor Supervisor to oversee electro-mechanical assemblies and manage daily operations on the production floor. You will lead technicians, ensure safety and quality, and collaborate with engineering and supply chain to meet schedules and budgets.

You will drive lean initiatives, monitor KPIs, conduct root-cause analyses, and ensure compliance with IPC, aerospace/DoD standards, ITAR/EAR, and documentation accuracy.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field.
• 5 years of electro-mechanical assembly or aerospace/defense manufacturing.
• 2 years in a lead or supervisory role overseeing production staff.
• Knowledge of gimbal systems, servo motors, sensors, or precision electro-mechanical products preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Direct, coach, and develop a team of electro-mechanical assemblers, technicians, and leads.
• Plan daily work assignments, set priorities, and adjust staffing to meet production schedules.
• Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability.
• Ensure daily/weekly production goals are met for assemblies and sub-systems.
• Partner with engineering to transition new products into production (NPI).
• Monitor WIP, resolve bottlenecks, and maintain balanced workflow across stations.
• Enforce quality standards, practices (IPC, aerospace/DoD standards), and documentation accuracy.
• Lead root cause investigations for defects, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure compliance with ESD, cleanroom, and defense export control requirements (ITAR/EAR).
• Apply lean manufacturing, 5S, and visual management practices to improve efficiency.
• Drive initiatives for waste reduction, improved yields, and cycle time reduction.
• Collaborate with supply chain on material availability and cost reduction opportunities.
• Track KPIs such as output, quality yield, labor efficiency, and on-time delivery.
• Provide daily/weekly reports to Operations and Engineering leadership.
• Use data to identify trends and proactively recommend improvements.
