Job summary

Astronics-PECO in Clackamas, Oregon, is seeking a Buyer II to support production purchases and manage supplier relationships. You will help ensure material availability, drive inventory control, and contribute to cost efficiency.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in business or related field and 3 years of production buying experience. Strong Excel and MS Office skills are essential, with travel up to one week per quarter possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
• Three years production purchasing experience in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of lean / throughput techniques and MRP concepts.
• ASCM and/or ISM certification preferred.
• Excellent oral and written skills.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
• Proven ability to work in a team.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and monitors purchase orders and procures materials to support production plans.
• Manages supplier relationships and procurement activities.
• Assists in supplier contracts and long-term agreements.
• Implements purchasing programs (Kanban, JIT, etc.).
• Monitors inventory levels and coordinates scrap/resale of materials.
• Assists in resolving material shortages and expedites when necessary.
• May perform cost analyses on parts and evaluate supplier performance.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 1 week per quarter.
