Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems Colorado Manufacturing Facility is seeking a Production Manager to lead a team of production technicians at a stand-alone site supporting a hypersonic weapon system and other DoD programs. As part of the site leadership team, you will drive 5S, on-time delivery, continuous improvement, and coordination with manufacturing engineering, production control, and quality.

Candidates must have 5+ years manufacturing experience, prior supervisory experience, familiarity with GD&T

Qualifications

• 5+ years manufacturing experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Prior supervisory experience.
• Prior exposure to precision machining and assembly processes.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
• Understanding of GD&T.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Lean manufacturing experience with Six Sigma certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a team of production technicians
• Maintain shop organization and 5S, performing weekly 5S audits
• Brief team in daily morning meeting on status of production jobs
• Work with production control team to understand deliverables and deploy resources effectively to support on time delivery
• Work with manufacturing engineering to continuously improve production flow
• Work with quality to understand status of nonconformities and support closure to move forward to the next step
• Identify production roadblocks and elevate to appropriate teams
• Hold team accountable to adhering to the written production processes
• Identify and support execution of continuous improvement projects
• Identify and elevate risks in the production processes
• Maintain department performance metrics
