RTX’s Tucson, AZ team seeks a Mechanical Producibility Engineer I to support design, development, and transition-to-production of complex defense products. You will work with design, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality to optimize producibility and reduce cost.

Ideal candidates have a STEM degree, can read drawings, and apply DFM/DFA principles. The role is onsite, offering hands-on problem solving, process improvement, and cross-functional teamwork in a dynamic aerospace environment.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or related STEM field obtained by start date.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and models.
• Experience applying Design for Manufacture (DFM) or Design for Assembly (DFA).

Aufgaben

• Partner with design engineering teams to ensure products meet manufacturing, assembly, and integration requirements.
• Conduct producibility assessments, design reviews, and risk identification early in the product development lifecycle.
• Review engineering drawings and specifications for clarity, compliance, and manufacturability.
• Perform process capability evaluations, tolerance analyses, and manufacturability trade studies.
• Identify opportunities to reduce manufacturing costs, improve yield, and streamline fabrication processes.
• Collaborate with suppliers to validate tooling concepts, process flows, and work instructions.
• Participate in root cause investigations and corrective actions for production issues.
• Support transition-to-production activities, including pilot/scout lot builds and first article inspections.
• Maintain documentation and data within Engineering and Manufacturing systems.
