Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Production Associate for its Cheshire, CT location. You will perform assembly tasks, solder operations, and quality checks on PC boards for gyro systems. The role requires reading diagrams, following instructions, and working with small components in a clean environment.

You will handle parts, operate bench tools, and participate in packing and shipment activities as part of a cross-functional manufacturing team.

Qualifications

• Must pass a hands-on solder test to be considered for the role.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
• Must be able to handle and manipulate small parts.
• Must follow written instructions and supervisory direction.
• Must be able to complete written records for the job.
• Must satisfy soldering school requirements to applicable military/standards.
• Must meet vision requirements for the job.
• Must handle chemicals and use a microscope for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Work from wiring diagrams, operating instructions and assembly drawings.
• Assemble, wire and solder production PC boards for mounting with gyros.
• Study BOMs to select components and insert them correctly.
• Solder components to PC boards and mount boards to gyro assemblies.
• Route wires according to assembly drawings and cut to length.
• Perform rework and repair on units from test and quality control.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and use safety procedures.
• Distribute materials and parts from stock to support production.
• Pack, load and ship gyro assemblies at month end deliveries.
