Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Largo, FL is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join a multi-disciplinary IPT with system, hardware and software engineers. You will contribute to next-generation designs, hardware packaging, and producibility efforts across circuit cards, electronics, and antennas.

You will perform 3D CAD modeling, electronics packaging work, and drawings creation while gaining experience in thermal and structural analysis, testing, and production support in an onsite environment.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• Experience with computer aided design (CAD) software such as SolidWorks, PTC Creo, Catia, NX, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Join a multi-disciplinary Integrated Program Team (IPT) with System, Hardware and Software Engineers.
• Contribute to development of next generation systems and upgrades for existing products.
• Create 3D CAD models and detailed drawings for components and assemblies.
• Handle electronics packaging with component selection and evaluation.
• Perform thermal, structural, or other analyses as needed.
• Support procurement and production activities.
• Assist with test and evaluation activities.
