Job summary

RTX's Melbourne, FL team invites an Engineering Intern to support Collins Aerospace manufacturing operations. You will work with seasoned engineers on data-collection, test processes, and equipment reliability to drive performance improvements.

You will gain hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering, data analysis, troubleshooting, and process optimization while supporting capacity planning and new product introduction activities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field.
• Experience with basic statistics and statistical process control (SPC).
• Experience with data analysis, automation, or engineering software such as Python, MATLAB, Excel, LabVIEW, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and automate data-collection tools and perform root-cause analysis to improve test processes and outcomes.
• Analyze test equipment performance, reliability, and efficiency while reducing downtime and costs.
• Support capacity planning, ROI analysis, and evaluate test approaches to optimize staffing, production, and capital investments.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting, training, and resolving production issues, including Manufacturing Flow Inhibitors (MFIs).
• Collaborate with Design Engineering to address component obsolescence, maintain test documentation, and manage configuration and change processes.
