RTX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer intern in El Segundo, CA to support space and airborne optics projects. You will design opto-mechanical components using Creo, create detailed drawings, and assist with assembly, integration, and test in lab environments.

You will work with a team of engineers to ensure producibility and manufacturability, present results for reviews, and contribute to design changes through the product data management process.

Competenze

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and enrolled through the internship/co-op.
• Minimum of 60 credit hours by start of internship/co-op.
• Experience in design and development of mechanical hardware.
• Experience in commercial CAD software, such as Creo.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Mansioni

• Create and revise opto-mechanical designs/drawings for EO/IR space hardware.
• Generate assembly instructions and provide build support with technicians and other teams.
• Design for producibility and manufacturability considerations.
• Present work for peer reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
