Job summary

Hera Technologies, a premier contract manufacturer for aerospace, defense and space sectors, leads the design, development and manufacturing of advanced mechanical components used in thermal protection systems (TPS).

The role requires hands-on work with TPS soft goods, composites and engineered surface finishes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, performance and compliance with stringent aerospace standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of mechanical design and manufacturing experience in metallics, composites and TPS.
• Proven leadership in engineering projects from design to production.
• Hands-on experience with advanced materials in aerospace/defense.
• Strong understanding of elastomer and composite manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in CAD with production-ready drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and manufacturing of mechanical components for TPS including softgoods, composites, and finishes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop scalable manufacturing processes complying with aerospace standards.
• Create and maintain process documentation to ensure consistent production outcomes.
• Utilize traditional and advanced manufacturing techniques for metals and composites.
• Prototype and test advanced materials, iterating based on data and failures.
• Lead root cause analyses to address material failures and process issues.
