Job summary

Hera Technologies in Irvine, CA, seeks a Head of Engineering to lead the design, development, and manufacturing of advanced TPS components. You will drive operational excellence, manage multi-disciplinary teams, and partner with executives to scale processes while ensuring strict aerospace compliance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of mechanical design and manufacturing experience.
• Experience leading engineering teams and projects in aerospace/defense.
• Knowledge of thermal protection systems and composites.
• Experience with proposals, cost estimates, and SOW generation.
• Familiarity with CAD, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in ERP, BOMs, and production workflows.
• English proficiency essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team across recruitment, onboarding, and KPI tracking.
• Direct the design, development, and manufacturing of TPS components and assemblies.
• Partner with executive leadership to implement scalable manufacturing and assembly processes with strict aerospace standards.
• Support business development through technical proposals, cost estimates, and SOW generation.
• Maintain rigorous process documentation and controls for throughput optimization.
• Drive root-cause analyses and implement permanent corrective actions across development and production.
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts to ensure quality, safety, and compliance.
