Job summary

Northrop Grumman's Flight Systems Engineering and Integration team seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to define interfaces, release drawings and coordinate with product teams. You will develop the mechanical baseline and present designs to customers, requiring strong interpersonal skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Basic qualifications include a BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field, 5+ years of experience, U.S. citizenship, and active Secret clearance (or eligibility for SAP).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Active Secret clearance at time of application with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP).
• Experience performing CAD modeling with design tools such as Siemens NX or similar.
• Experience performing mechanical design on MILCON, major infrastructure/building projects, or Aerospace and Defense programs.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of tools - Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
• Ability to understand and interpret requirements.

• Define mechanical interface controls and release integration drawings.
• Coordinate design solutions with Flight Systems product teams.
• Develop the mechanical interface baseline and present designs to customers.
