Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Mechanical Assembler V – Group Lead for our OEM facility in Foley, Alabama. The role supports the A320 assembly line, mentoring a team of assemblers and guiding shift activities to meet production targets.

You will interpret blueprints, lead continuous improvement efforts, and ensure safety and quality in daily operations on first shift, Monday–Friday. This onsite role requires US Persons per policy.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED with 5+ years in related aerospace manufacturing.
• 2+ years aerospace manufacturing experience.
• 2+ years reading/interpreting blueprints, diagrams, or drawings.
• 2+ years using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
• 1+ years experience with Continuous Improvement tools or methodologies.
• Experience leading, training, mentoring, coordinating teams in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex mechanical assembly, rework, and repair per specs.
• Act as working Group Lead, guiding and supporting assemblers.
• Help interpret blueprints and engineering drawings; guide assembly methods.
• Coordinate workflow, priorities, and communicate status.
• Mentor and train team; promote teamwork, accountability and quality.
• Troubleshoot issues; identify defects; suggest improvements.
• Partner with Ops, Eng, Quality to resolve issues and support CI/CORE.
• Safely operate tools and maintain an organized work area.
