Job summary

Collins Aerospace seeks a Mechanical Assembler V – Group Lead to support the Foley, Alabama OEM facility and the A320 Assembly Line. You will lead a team of assemblers, interpret blueprints, and ensure safe, quality production.

Onsite first shift, you will mentor staff, coordinate priorities, and drive continuous improvement while collaborating with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to meet targets.

Qualifications

• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• 2+ years aerospace manufacturing experience.
• 2+ years reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, drawings, and/or work instructions.
• 2+ years using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
• 1+ years experience with Continuous Improvement tools or methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring others in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex mechanical assembly, rework, and repair activities per specifications and safety requirements.
• Serve as working Group Lead and technical resource for Mechanical Assemblers, guiding daily activities.
• Interpret blueprints and engineering drawings and advise on proper assembly methods and tooling.
• Coordinate workflow, communicate status, and raise issues to leadership as needed.
• Mentor and train team members to promote teamwork, accountability, and quality.
• Troubleshoot assembly issues, identify defects, and suggest improvements.
