Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced M&P engineer to support aerospace-grade materials and processes, including tribology and lubrication for vacuum environments. You will review designs, sign off on drawings, and coordinate qualification activities while collaborating with cross-functional teams on lunar program projects.

The ideal candidate has a B.S. in a relevant engineering field, 6+ years in M&P, and familiarity with MMPDS/MAPTIS. Some travel to Blue Origin/vendor sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum B.S. degree in engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of M&P engineering for a production space program.
• Tribology expertise including lubrication, coatings, wear mechanisms.
• Experience with space vacuum lubricants and materials.
• Experience reviewing materials and processes for qualification.
• Ability to design and execute component/material test plans.
• Knowledge of MMPDS, MAPTIS, CMH-17 standards.
• Willingness to travel to Blue Origin and vendor sites; U.S. work eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide M&P engineering support for aerospace-grade materials and processes.
• Provide design engineering support for mechanical systems and assemblies.
• Ensure parts and materials meet vehicle system requirements.
• Execute characterization and qualification efforts for materials and processes.
• Review production drawings and release drawings as M&P signatory.
• Evaluate lubricants and surface treatments for vacuum/high-cycle life.
• Characterize friction, wear, and lubrication via testing and analysis.
• Support internal/external M&P efforts including QA and supplier qualification.
• Develop internal processes to standardize material evaluation and qualification.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams within Lunar organization and other units.
