Job summary

Ultimate Staffing is seeking a Materials Manager for an in-person role in Camarillo. The position leads a materials team in an AS9100-certified aerospace environment, overseeing procurement, planning, and supplier relations to ensure on-time delivery and cost control.

The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and deep knowledge of MRP/ERP processes. You will partner with Quality, Engineering, Contracts, and Finance while maintaining compliance with ITAR/EAR and related standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
• 5+ years of experience in materials purchasing, planning or supply chain.
• 2+ years of supervisory/management experience.
• Experience with material-related transactions in an MRP/ERP system; MAPICS/AS400 experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Working knowledge of ITAR/EAR export control requirements.
• Self-motivated team player with ability to act with minimal direction.
• Experience leading a team to accomplish goals in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and PO terms.

Responsibilities

• Co-manage business unit buyers and planners, including hiring, training and performance development.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality and Engineering Managers to meet material requirements.
• Establish and track KPIs for on-time delivery, inventory turns and PPV.
• Work with Production to address material shortages and escalation.
• Interface with Contracts, Program Management and Finance on proposals, should-cost analysis and make-vs-buy decisions.
• Maintain the Approved Supplier List and ensure flow-down of requirements to suppliers and sub-tiers.
• Support compliance with AS9100, ITAR/EAR, FAR/DFARS, and related regulations.
• Develop robust procurement and production planning, including MRP governance and capacity-aligned material release.
• Lead supplier risk management, contingency planning and dual-sourcing strategies.
• Maintain inventory controls, E&O reserves, cycle counts and inventory accuracy.
