Job summary
Applied Aerospace & Defense is seeking a Manufacturing/Process Engineer to own and improve manufacturing plans for aerospace components. You will support CNC machining, inspection, and process development, applying GD&T and NX CAD to create and optimize operation sheets.
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of aerospace manufacturing experience, NPI involvement, and familiarity with metals like steel, aluminum, and titanium.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
- At least 3 years’ experience in manufacturing/process engineering; aerospace preferred.
- Experience with Frozen Planning and manufacturing flight critical components a plus.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply basic GD&T methods.
- Ability to navigate through detailed customer specifications.
- Experience with milling, turning, grinding; experience with Siemens NX CAD (NX 7.5+) a plus.
- Experience with NPI development and implementation.
- Experience working with various metals including steel, aluminum, titanium, etc.
Responsibilities
- Own and improve manufacturing process planning for aerospace components.
- Provide troubleshooting support for CNC machinists and inspectors.
- Investigate technical problems for root cause and corrective actions.
- Analyze data and reports to implement process improvements and reduce scrap/rework.
- Lead technical manufacturing development of new products through first article delivery.
- Design fixtures/tools and gaging for manufacturing.
- Work safely and contribute to safety initiatives.
- Support department/objectives and develop team members.
