Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems in Kansas seeks a production engineering leader to manage manufacturing engineers, technicians and planners. You will develop and execute policies, coordinate with design, manufacturing and suppliers, and drive build plans with root-cause analysis to meet program deadlines.

Strong leadership, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration are essential. The role emphasizes developing teams, enforcing process standards, and delivering safe, efficient manufacturing solutions

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a manufacturing production environment.
• Ability to lead and participate in cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication, decisive action, and innovative thinking.
• Knowledge of business and production metrics, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to read blueprints, build plans, CATIA, and IVT.
• Experience with SAP or other large-scale MRP systems.
• Lean/Six Sigma and continuous improvement familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Manage manufacturing engineers, technicians, production specialists, and planners.
• Develop and execute business plans, policies, and procedures.
• Acquire resources, manage suppliers, and lead process improvements.
• Build relationships with customers, stakeholders, and peers.
• Oversee technical approaches, products, and processes.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, facilities, and supply teams to guide the manufacturing plan.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing build plans and conduct root cause analysis.
• Lead cost studies and integrated product and process teams.
• Train and develop new manufacturing staff to be skilled and independent.
• Communicate progress to leadership and ensure schedule deadlines.
