Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems is seeking a senior engineering leader to guide a multidisciplinary team in Wichita, KS, focusing on aerospace product development from concept to delivery. The position requires a Bachelor's in engineering (ABET-accredited), 8+ years of engineering experience, and 2+ years in technical management, with eligibility for U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 8+ years of related engineering experience.
• 2+ years of related technical management/leadership experience.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access (citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering organization and provide technical leadership to team.
• Oversee full life cycle requirements for aerospace product development.
• Establish, oversee, and administer technical processes, policies, and practices.
• Manage cost, schedule, technical performance, and staffing forecast of the engineering team.
• Collaborate with engineering managers and program managers to identify staffing gaps and hiring strategies.
• Define resource requirements, acquisition, and redeployment plans.
• Provide development, mentoring, and growth opportunities for employees.
• Motivate and manage the team to ensure high performance.
• Interface with internal/external customers and suppliers to define and evaluate project priorities and approvals.
