Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. in Huntsville, AL seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead engineers and technicians through EMD, LRIP, and FRP programs, focusing on readiness, new product introductions, and continuous improvement in aerospace/defense production.

You will coach and mentor staff, apply Lean Six Sigma, and collaborate with design and other functions to meet safety, quality, and cost targets. Travel ~10% to sites and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in manufacturing engineering with required years of experience.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience.
• In lieu of degree, 13 years of manufacturing engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead new product introductions and manage transitions across EMD, LRIP, and FRP.
• Coach and mentor Manufacturing Engineers; develop capabilities.
• Build a high-performing team culture focused on learning and ownership.
• Partner with cross-functional engineering teams for manufacturability, safety, and cost.
• Apply Lean Six Sigma to drive improvements.
• Lead process optimization and readiness reviews.
• Establish and manage safety, quality, productivity, and cost targets
• Develop and track manufacturing performance metrics and take corrective actions when needed.
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets and resource planning
• Support production operations by ensuring processes and product flow meet quality and performance requirements.
• Act as a primary interface with design engineering to ensure alignment between product specifications and production capabilities.
• Travel: 10% L3Harris Sites, customers, and/or suppliers.
