Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design, develop, and implement new or revised manufacturing and production processes for aerospace hardware. You will translate engineering intent into bill of materials and work instructions, identify tools and equipment, and provide lineside support on the factory floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering.
• Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing, including GD&T.
• Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).

Responsibilities

• Translating engineering intent and drawings into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight by crafting manufacturing bill of materials and work instructions.
• Identifying tools and equipment required for manufacturing flight hardware.
• Providing shipside/lineside support on the manufacturing floor.
• Non-conformance report (NCR) generation, management, & closure.
• Supporting introduction of new products by crafting manufacturing plan artifacts including build plans, duration estimates, index plans, and tool lists.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for safety and efficiency, enhancing overall productivity.
• Drive the transition from development to production, proactively performing troubleshooting and maintenance as needed.
