Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Huntsville, AL to design and implement efficient manufacturing systems for BE-4 engine production. You will lead DFM/DFM, quality control, and supply chain optimization, collaborating with design, QA, and production teams to shorten cycle times and improve first-time quality.

The role requires a BS in engineering, with 0–8+ years in manufacturing engineering and experience creating English work instructions. Relocation available.

Qualifications

• Design for manufacturability, design for assembly and design for test to build reliable space vehicles.
• Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with design, quality, supply chain and production teams to accelerate space vehicle production.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to DFM, DFA, DFT to build reliable space vehicles.
• Translate engineering requirements into robust manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to accelerate production timelines.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation: work instructions, process flow diagrams, tool designs, inspection plans.
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies (precision machining, welding, brazing, additive manufacturing, advanced assembly).
• Support root cause analysis and corrective actions to enhance reliability and performance.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Participate in FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines and equipment.
• Apply emerging AI technologies alongside traditional manufacturing engineering tools to optimize processes.
