Job summary
Aleron is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Machine Shop) in Bertram, TX for a contract-to-hire six‑month engagement in Aviation & Aerospace. You will act as liaison between the machine shop and engineering, driving manufacturability, CAD-to-parts workflow, and on-time delivery of rocket components.
You will research new manufacturing methods, improve cycle times, and collaborate with design and tooling teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
- 5+ years in machine shop with responsibilities listed.
- 5+ years CAD software experience (Pro-E, CATIA, Inventor, SolidWorks, or NX).
Responsibilities
- Act as liaison between machine shop and engineering teams.
- Provide feedback to engineers for time- and cost-efficient production methods.
- Ensure on-time delivery of rocket components from CAD models to finished parts.
- Research new manufacturing methods and production-related processes.
- Work with design team to ensure manufacturability of components.
- Manage lookaheads for long-lead tasks.
- Improve processes and cycle times.
- Implement quick changeover improvements.
- Be fully accountable for a set of hardware.
- Create work instructions.
- Identify issues, coordinate with quality for corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Tooling and Programming for job readiness.
- Conceptual design and sourcing of workholding.
