Job summary

Aleron is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Machine Shop) in Bertram, TX for a contract-to-hire six‑month engagement in Aviation & Aerospace. You will act as liaison between the machine shop and engineering, driving manufacturability, CAD-to-parts workflow, and on-time delivery of rocket components.

You will research new manufacturing methods, improve cycle times, and collaborate with design and tooling teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
  • 5+ years in machine shop with responsibilities listed.
  • 5+ years CAD software experience (Pro-E, CATIA, Inventor, SolidWorks, or NX).

Responsibilities

  • Act as liaison between machine shop and engineering teams.
  • Provide feedback to engineers for time- and cost-efficient production methods.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of rocket components from CAD models to finished parts.
  • Research new manufacturing methods and production-related processes.
  • Work with design team to ensure manufacturability of components.
  • Manage lookaheads for long-lead tasks.
  • Improve processes and cycle times.
  • Implement quick changeover improvements.
  • Be fully accountable for a set of hardware.
  • Create work instructions.
  • Identify issues, coordinate with quality for corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Tooling and Programming for job readiness.
  • Conceptual design and sourcing of workholding.

Employment Type: Contract to Hire (6 months)

Compensation: $38.94–$44.93 /hr.

Schedule: 40 hours per week.

Job Requirements
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a machine shop environment implementing the responsibilities listed.
  • 5+ years of experience with CAD software such as Pro‑E, CATIA, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or NX.
