Aleron is seeking an AFP Manufacturing Engineer II for our Bertram, TX location. This direct-hire role focuses on developing and optimizing automated fiber placement processes for aerospace components.

You will program AFP machines, verify paths, and collaborate with design, NC programming, operations, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure high quality, efficient production and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in carbon fiber composite aerospace manufacturing.
• 5+ years interrogating machine efficiency and implementing process improvements.
• 5+ years of Automated Fiber Placement experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee AFP ply programs for composite parts using Ingersoll Gen2, Vericut programming tools, ensuring conformance to design intent.
• Support machine setup, calibration, and laser alignment for first article and production runs.
• Analyze and optimize AFP paths to minimize defects and improve efficiency.
• Validate AFP programs with simulations and dry runs and assist operators during start-ups.
• Collaborate with design for manufacturability feedback for AFP parts.
• Investigate issues and coordinate with maintenance and support teams.
