Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Operations team. The role leads design and implementation of efficient manufacturing systems, ensures quality control, and optimizes supply chain logistics for Production/Operations.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce costs and improve timelines. The position focuses on live-assembly of crewed spacecraft hardware, working hands-on from development to production, with a strong emphasis on producibility and safety

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering role.
  • 1+ years of experience creating English work instructions.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and resolve manufacturing risks and drive improvements.
  • U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or asylum.

Responsibilities

  • Take an assigned crew-systems product from concept through production readiness, planning PRRs and assessing MRLs/PRLs.
  • Provide DFMA support, partnering with design engineers to influence producibility.
  • Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions and inspection plans.
  • Support build of development and flight units, resolving process and hardware issues on the floor.
  • Lead root cause analysis of process or product non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in process FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and promote safety standards.
  • Identify and integrate automation and digital tools into daily ME operations.
  • Lead cross-functional manufacturing engineering across Design, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations.
