Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II for the Primary Structures team. You will provide DFx feedback, collaborate with design, manufacturing, reliability, and production teams, and help keep production moving on the Terran R program.

You’ll work on primary structure assembly, drive process improvements, and create work instructions to standardize manufacturing across centers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering or similar field.
• 2+ years progressive and related experience.
• Strong history of supporting complicated assembly builds and ability to make risk decisions to keep production moving.
• Excellent interpersonal skills interfacing with engineering and manufacturing groups.
• Strong fundamentals in statics, mechanics of materials, process improvement, fastening and joining, machining.

Responsibilities

• Provide Design for Manufacturing feedback to structures teams during development and builds.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, reliability, production teams and vendors to drive progress.
• Cover the shop floor for primary structure work centers and clear barriers to keep production moving.
• Champion process improvements across multiple work centers for better assembly operations.
• Create work instructions, specifications, and best practices to standardize processes.
