Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to own and optimize hardware production for Terran R. You’ll collaborate with design and test teams to drive manufacturability, build flow planning, large‑scope logistics, tooling design, and fast, safe assembly work.

Required: BS in aerospace, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering and 2+ years of manufacturing experience with strong drafting/GD&T skills; cross‑functional collaboration and end‑to‑end ownership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in aerospace, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience building and testing hardware in a manufacturing environment (may include internship).
• Experience interfacing with design engineering, manufacturing, and production personnel.
• Extensive experience managing large scope of ownership.
• Extensive experience authoring work instructions and/or test procedures for mechanical and/or fluid assemblies.
• Self‑starter with ability to define and own a process from scratch and communicate to a diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, develop, and stand up a cutting-edge bending and welding work cell capable of meeting Aeon R and Terran R requirements.
• Drive assembly-first build and DFx guidance, build and test work orders, and specification authoring.
• Implement innovative tooling solutions to increase output while reducing complexity.
• Establish and enforce standard practices and repair procedures, reviewing planning documents.
• Streamline and optimize existing production systems for cost reduction and quality improvements.
• Demonstrate ingenuity by introducing novel ideas with emphasis on safety and reliability.
