Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to own the build of Terran R hardware and advocate for scalable manufacturing. You will collaborate with propulsion, manufacturing, and design teams to drive robust processes and real-time problem solving.

You will develop work instructions, support assembly sequencing, and push for improvements that increase output without sacrificing safety or quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in aerospace, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering and readiness to apply fundamentals.
• 2+ years building and testing hardware in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience interfacing with design, manufacturing, and production teams.
• Able to own large scope of work and drive documentation.
• Proven ability to write work instructions and test procedures.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for scalable manufacturing with a focus on DFx and assembly sequencing.
• Drive build and test efforts with BOM development and planning documentation.
• Implement tooling solutions to streamline production and reduce complexity.
• Establish standard practices, troubleshooting guides, and repair procedures.
• Streamline production systems, identify cost reductions, improve quality and efficiency.
• Demonstrate autonomy by delivering safe, timely, and reliable project results.
