Job summary

RTX Columbus Forge maintenance technician is responsible for keeping complex machinery reliable and efficient on a 3rd-shift schedule, Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 PM – 8:30 AM. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs across electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems to support production.

You will use oscilloscopes and digital tools to diagnose issues, document activities, and collaborate with the team while following EH&S policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of experience in industrial maintenance.
• Experience with both electrical and mechanical systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily and monthly planned maintenance on machinery and equipment, ensuring operational efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and repair electronic, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems using service manuals, drawings, and equipment performance descriptions.
• Conduct tests using instruments such as oscilloscopes, recorders, and digital measuring tools to identify faulty circuits and resolve issues.
• Replace or adjust components such as amplifiers, logic cards, memory units, feedback devices, high-voltage switches, and printed circuit boards as needed.
• Calibrate and service electronic and electrical systems, including hard-wired and computerized controls, power distribution systems, and instrumentation.
• Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and maintenance activities.
• Operate PIVs (Powered Industrial Vehicles) such as forklifts, yard cranes, articulated manlifts, etc.
• Collaborate with team members to support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to EH&S policies.
