Job summary

RTX is seeking a maintenance technician to plan, repair, and service equipment used in powdered metals manufacturing at our US-based Clayville facility. You will work with hydraulics, pneumatics, and high-pressure gas systems, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 1+ year experience, strong attendance, and the ability to wear a respirator. Flexible hours and onsite work are expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Must have strong attendance record.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Able to work hours outside of the normal shift.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Must be able to wear a respirator.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform work on equipment used in the manufacture of powdered metals and related processes, including setting up, repairing and servicing equipment to meet customer requirements.
• Perform repair work on complex powder manufacturing equipment.
• Work with preventive maintenance program and schedules.
• Perform bench repair operations to restore parts where close tolerances are normally required and specifically defined criteria are not used.
• Perform work on hydraulics, pneumatics, and high press gas systems.
• Perform continuous improvement initiatives.
• Interface with stock room to maintain a sufficient supply of spare parts.
• Perform check and layout work on parts using inspection tools.
• Service and repair equipment using proper methods, tools and specifications.
• Maintain logs and records as requested to communicate findings and prepare requests for approval.
• May be required to obtain and maintain training, operator permits and certifications within assigned area.
• May be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this position in support of department objectives and to develop one’s skills.
• Support the cell’s continuous improvement and all CORE and EH&S initiatives.
