Job summary

RTX is seeking applicants for a 2nd shift manufacturing role at Pratt & Whitney in North Berwick, ME. The position involves setting up and operating NC milling and grinding equipment to fabricate weldments and assemblies, with training provided to perform TPM and quality checks.

The shift runs Monday to Thursday, 3:30pm–1:30am (4 ten-hour shifts). Qualified candidates have High School or GED and preferably 1+ years in manufacturing, with opportunities for career growth and comprehensive

Qualifications

• High School or GED is required.
• 1+ years of manufacturing or related trade experience.
• Ability to perform decimal and fraction computations.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Learn to set up and operate NC milling/grinding machines.
• Learn to work from operation sheets, part travelers, BOROPS, and oral instruction to set up equipment for grinding, turning, facing, boring and/or chamfering operations involving a limited number of surfaces to be machined.
• Learn to verify conformance of finished work to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
• Obtain operator Certification to be able to accept/reject parts.
• Learn to maintain machines by performing required total preventive maintenance (TPM)
• Learn to work collaboratively with engineers, quality assurance, programmers and other production personnel to resolve machining problems and assist in part process development.
