Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, based in the United States, is seeking a 2nd shift Machine Operator to read work instructions, set up and operate multiple production machines, and perform TPM maintenance. You will work closely with engineers, QA, and programming staff to resolve machining issues and support part process development.

The role requires basic technical aptitude, the ability to interpret operation sheets, and a willingness to move along the line; it offers on-site work with potential certification

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program / contract
• Previous Manufacturing experience or education or Advanced Manufacturing Certification

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret work instructions
• Strong computer skills
• Set up and operate a variety of production equipment and measuring devices. Examples may include milling/grinding machines, furnaces, peening machines, part wash machines, coating machines, airflow/water flow machines, calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.
• Work from operation sheets, work instructions, part travelers, and oral instruction to set up equipment within the assigned business unit, involving a limited number of surfaces to be machined.
• Obtain operator certification to be able to accept/reject parts.
• Maintain machines by performing required total preventative maintenance (TPM).
• Work collaboratively with engineers, quality assurance, programmers and other production personnel or others to resolve machining problems and assist in part process development (if applicable).
• Frequently move about the machine line to operate various manufacturing equipment (approximately 90% of the time), bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, transport product and/or equipment weighing up to 10 pounds
• May be assigned to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives.
