Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Atlanta, GA seeks a Project Manager to lead multi-discipline engineering projects from inception to completion. You will oversee safety, quality, schedule, cost control, procurement, contracts, risk, and client relations, guiding teams across engineering, procurement, and construction domains.

You will manage scope, budgeting, risk reviews, reporting, and project controls while coordinating with owners, contractors, and engineers to ensure on-time delivery and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related degree from accredited program and 7 years applicable experience
• Prior experience on construction project sites or executing program management in multiple industries
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding work environment, ability to work overtime on short notice
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office
• Ability to work collaboratively with owners, contractors, engineers in multi-disciplined teams
• Strong experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance of all aspects of multi-discipline engineering projects from concept to completion
• Establish project teams, coordinate activities of multiple disciplines, ensure efficient staffing
• Manage all aspects of project communication
• Lead the Project Management team in RFP development, bid/selection, and scope of work documents
• Develop and monitor project schedules, manage scope, and control project costs
• Serve as primary client contact for coordination, planning, budget finances, subcontracting, staffing
• Manage review, negotiation, approval, and execution of prime contracts and change orders
• Lead risk reviews and consult with Risk Department as required
• Manage cost forecasts and accruals to clients and Global Practice leadership
• Manage project controls: cost reporting, scheduling, WBS, set-up and closeout in accounting system
• Monitor progress and provide input to improve schedules, productivity, budgets, quality, profitability
• Responsible for contract closeout activities
• Generate new business revenue by developing client relationships
