Job summary

Virgin Galactic is seeking a Project Specialist, Maintenance Service Engineering to support the Flight Maintenance team and oversee maintenance service processes for upcoming Delta Class Spaceships and HALE LCV programs.

The role requires an FAA A&P license, 8+ years in aircraft maintenance, and proficiency with Dassault 3DExperience, Enovia, Delmia and MS Office tools. You will work under the Manager of Maintenance Service Engineering to optimize fielding and reliability.

Qualifications

High school diploma and/or combination of education and work experience required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Technical field preferred.
FAA-approved Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license.
8+ years of aircraft maintenance or quality experience.
Experience with aviation MRO software highly desired.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficient knowledge of engineering design software: Dassault 3DExperience, Enovia, Delmia, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Project, MS Visio.

Responsibilities

Acts as maintenance department focal for in-service Spaceship and Launch Vehicle service item definition development and sustainment.
Establishes and manages service process plans with resources for maintenance operations.
Reviews and incorporates feedback from data analytics to improve service process planning.
Leads maintenance department continuous improvement initiatives and documents lessons learned.
Drives vehicle maintainability improvements for dispatch and reliability objectives.
Ensures equipment, tools, spares, facilities meet fleet operation needs.
Reviews 3D model-based designs for human factors maintainability and provides assessments to design groups.
Develops technical publication manuals for operational use.
Authors/ contributes to MSG-3 mx task analysis for 3DX-based models.
Develops and manages SBOM in 3DX to enable maintainability planning, scheduling and documentation.
Manages SBOM EBOM, MBOM, MPDs, Tech Pubs, TDs, and maintenance task cards.
Controls as-maintained changes from the execution system into SBOM architecture.
Collaborates with operations engineering on design changes and maintenance input.
Authors and develops maintenance task card process plans in software.
Translates maintenance process details into organized data sets for planning and scheduling.
Performs other related duties as required.
