Job summary

Moog in Buffalo, NY is seeking a skilled Grind Machinist II for 2nd/3rd shifts to produce high-precision components for advanced aerospace programs. You will read blueprints, set up grinders, and maintain tight tolerances while preparing parts for mission-critical systems.

The role requires 3+ years of grinding experience, proficiency with micrometers, calipers, and dial bore gauges, and adherence to FAA Drug & Alcohol program rules.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; able to follow English instructions.
• At least 3 years of Grind Machinist experience.
• Proficient with measuring tools: micrometers, calipers, dial bore gauges.
• Able to read blueprints and written work instructions.
• Tight tolerances around .001 ± .0005 (GD&T) must be maintained.
• FAA Drug & Alcohol Program participation is required.

Responsibilities

• Grind complex parts from blueprints to meet tight tolerances.
• Perform self-setups including chucking and alignment on irregular shapes.
• Dress grinding wheels and select appropriate wheels and speeds.
• Inspect finished work with air gauges, diastest, V-blocks, profilometers and gauges.
• Participate in cell planning and problem-solving within the work area.
