Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a flight safety engineer to lead regulatory analysis for the New Glenn program. You will conduct trajectory studies, debris risk assessments, and probability of failure evaluations to support FAA and USSF approvals.

You will produce clear technical reports, collaborate with government partners, and help plan safety-critical analyses in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Experience with Part 450 regulatory knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent technical field.
• 5+ years of experience with flight safety analysis process and tools.
• Strong fundamentals in flight mechanics/dynamics and vehicle simulation.
• Strong fundamentals in statistical/probabilistic analysis.
• Experience with trajectory analysis tools (AVRA-T/AVRA-DR/BlastDFO/RRAT/TTK/MATLAB/Python).
• Exposure to LOX/LNG explosive yield, overpressure, debris risk, and population modeling.

Responsibilities

• Lead flight safety analyses for New Glenn program.
• Develop and maintain regulatory approvals with FAA and USSF.
• Generate clear, well-documented technical reports of analysis results.
• Collaborate with program teams and government partners to ensure safety criteria are met.
