Blue Origin is seeking a flight safety engineer to develop and maintain safety analyses for the New Glenn program. You will lead regulatory work with the FAA and USSF, coordinating with NASA and other government partners to secure flight safety approvals.

The role requires a strong background in engineering, safety analysis methods, and experience with Confluence and JIRA. You will contribute to high-velocity decision making in a fast-paced environment and work within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in engineering or equivalent technical management field.
• Experience with flight safety analysis process and tools.
• Exposure to LOX/LNG explosive yield, overpressure, probability of failure, debris risk analysis, and population modeling.
• Understanding trade space between mission design and safety criteria.
• Familiarity with Part 450 regulatory requirements.
• Ability to collaborate in a team and communicate effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Track record of product ownership.
• Experience with Confluence and JIRA.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform flight safety analyses for launch vehicle programs.
• Develop and maintain flight safety reports and documentation.
• Support regulatory approvals with FAA Office of Commercial Space Transportation and Range Safety organizations.
• Collaborate with government partners (NASA, US Space Force) to plan flight safety analyses.
